Time Magazine’s “FIRSTS: Women Who Are Changing the World” Multimedia Project Celebrates Trailblazing Female Leaders

Last week Time magazine unveiled its newest multimedia project entitled “FIRSTS: Women Who Are Changing the World.”

Encompassing short films, interviews, photographs and more, the project aims to highlight the achievements of 46 women who have made significant contributions to various fields.

“FIRSTS” is accompanied by a social media campaign and will also appear as a book later this month. In addition, Time released 12 special covers featuring a selection of the trailblazers honoured in the project. Half of them are women of colour who have left their mark in areas ranging from sport to politics. Among the 12 selected are Ava DuVernay, Ilhan Omar, Oprah Winfrey, Mo’ne Davis and Hillary Clinton.

The covers will appear on Time magazine’s upcoming issue which will be released on 18 September. The book “FIRSTS: Women Who Are Changing the World” will be available for pre-order on the following day.
